Location Ballyknocken House is scenically located on a 350 acre farm only a short drive from Dublin City Centre in County Wicklow, Ireland. This charming Victorian Farmhouse offers Bed and Breakfast accommodation and is home to TV Chef and Food Writer, Catherine Fulvio. It is located on the road between Ashford and Glenealy Village. Three miles from Ashford on the right or one mile from Glenealy on the left.Rooms Ballyknocken House is a romantic 19th Century Victorian farmhouse. Ballyknocken House offers Bed & Breakfast Accommodation and there are 7 charming bedrooms, some with Victorian roll top baths. The romance and charm of Ballyknocken House is reflected in the décor of our accommodation. It offers both twin and double room accommodation. All bedrooms are strictly non-smoking. Restaurant Ballyknocken offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a 4 course set evening meal on Friday and Saturday evenings. There are also many pubs and restaurants in the local area which will be recommended to you. The wine list has been thoughtfully compiled, offering an interesting selection of old and new world wines, some of which are specially imported to Ballyknocken House, Co. Wicklow, there is also a selection of beers (and Guinness!) and soft drinks. The breakfast menu includes some wonderful treats such as apricots, fruits in season, local cheese, prune & raisin compote, homemade muesli & granola, yogurts and juices from the buffet. They also offer hot meals such as Drop Scones (mini pancakes) with chopped nuts and honey, Cinnamon French Bread or a traditional Irish breakfast along with homemade brown bread, jams and much more. The style of cooking is wholesome Irish – simply fresh local seasonal ingredients, imaginatively prepared into a wholesome meal. Cookery School The love of good food led to the opening of the award winning Ballyknocken Cookery School seven years ago and guests often book in for morning’s cookery. Dates and timing of cookery courses are specially selected so that day tripping is an option and staying over is an additional treat. Run by celebrity TV chef Catherine Fulvio, the school offers a broad range of cookery classes from Southern Italian recipes to Gourmet on a Budget with something for everyone. At Ballyknocken Cookery School you will find a fresh, fun approach to cooking with an emphasis on hands on courses.
